What is a second, and what does that mean for me? Well, everyone makes mistakes at times. Occasionally we receive products from our suppliers with cosmetic imperfections that are otherwise perfectly constructed, but just doesn’t quite measure up to a perfect IMAGINE SUP. We call these factory seconds or just seconds.

OK, I get that, and I like the idea but what about performance or safety on the water? Will these boards perform the same and most importantly are they just as safe to use? The factory seconds boards have imperfections that absolutely do not affect performance or functionality in any way. You can rest assured that if you have any issue with a factory second that we will apply our same great warranty. Factory seconds are fully covered by the same exact warranty as all IMAGINE SUPs.   standard warranty and return policies – just the same as our first quality products.

Yeah, I am definitely intrigued, but what the heck are cosmetic imperfections? TLDR – You probably will never notice what is different about your factory second board. At IMAGINE we take the production of our boards, and the quality we bring to market very seriously. If something is slightly off we quite simply will not sell it as a perfect board. That is just how we roll.  The cosmetic imperfections vary from board to board and are often barely noticeable.  Here are a few examples of what qualifies as a second and may be noticeable on your factory second board:

• The logo on the deckpad or the board bottom may be crooked
• The edge of the EVA deckpad is uneven
• The ISUP bag was not properly cleaned before packing.  Simple water and a paper towel or a cleaning wipe resolves this in a minute.
